  Introducing Online Professional Training for Instructors (OPT-In)
  
  OPT-In provides professional development for instructors to increase awareness and implementation of best practices for online higher education instruction. The training is administered through a series of online courses, designed to not only coach instructors on best practices, but boost instructors’ comfort level in teaching in an online environment.
  
  OPT-In is designed to improve the quality of online instruction at your school, which can lead to additional benefits, such as:

  • Student retention
  • Support in receiving accreditation

  OPT-In is composed of two tracks – the Moodle track and the Best Practices track. Each track contains three levels of training that provide instructors with a strong foundation to ensure an effective online learning environment. Instructor participation in both tracks is highly encouraged.
  
  OPT-In training, valued at $500 per course, is offered at no charge to instructors at Learning House partner institutions. Instructors will receive a certificate upon scoring a minimum of 80 percent on all assessments and assignments.
